Tasty Tuesday: Pumpkin Protein Loaf

I hate eating breakfast. Unless it's a smoothie or a piece of fruit, I'm never very interested in it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE breakfast pastries - donuts, danishes, sweet breads - but they're so bad for you. I hate wasting so many calories first thing in the morning. I feel guilty about it all day long. But after a while I get sick of drinking breakfast and I need something more substantial. So I decided to come up with something fluffy and sweet that also had a serving of protein in it.

Tasty Tuesday Top Three Picks

Gosh, I've been SO busy this week! The week before Easter is always crazy. Easter is absolutely my favorite holiday in the world so I've thrown myself into the decorations and food and planning. I'll be back next week with a new recipe, but for this week you have to cut me a pass - the Easter Bunny needs some help!

This week I have a round-up of my top three favorite recipes from last week.

Triple Cinnamon Scones from Baking for Blessings

I would love to have one of these with my morning cup of coffee. Or two. Or three.

Easter Krispy Treats from Everyday Made Fresh

I honestly never thought of putting candy in krispy treats. But this is a great idea for using up all that candy leftover from the Easter Bunny. If there is any ;)
Easter Chicks Lemon Cookies from The Gold Lining Girl

These are so darned cute. Little yellow chick cookies! The sprinkle feet are the perfect addition.
We have a new co-host for the month of March! Melissa from The Happy Idiot will be sharing this party …

Tasty Tuesday: Sunday Best Roast

What a fun weekend. Husband and I went outlet shopping and out to eat, and generally enjoyed the nice weather. I always enjoy the outlets because, even when we don’t buy much, we love walking the entire outlet at least once – it’s a few miles and great exercise. After a trip like that, I always enjoy having a dinner that doesn’t take too much effort. I can do a few simple things then fix it and forget it. This Sunday Best Roast is the perfect example.

Tasty Tuesday: Six Cheese Macaroni and Cheese

If there is something I like more than Mac & Cheese, I don’t know what it is. It is a staple of our household. Tender pasta, creamy, cheesy sauce, and a crunchy, buttery top is a little piece of heaven for me, especially when it is fresh out of my own kitchen. Don’t get me wrong, I love the stuff in the blue box. You’re never too old for that. But this six cheese version will change how you look at typical Mac & Cheese. I make it for holidays and sometimes just for dinner. It’s great with a side of peas.

Tasty Tuesday: Vanilla Bean Extract

First off, I'm excited to say I am a new co-host for Creative K-Kids Tasty Tuesday link party! I look forward to sharing some great posts with all of you. Link up your posts, make some new friends, and enjoy yourselves!
For this week, I have a DIY that has become a staple of my kitchen. Homemade vanilla bean extract. I haven't purchased a single bottle of vanilla since I discovered this, and I will never, ever go back. The taste is intense and wonderful, and it's SO EASY! Not to mention the money you're saving by making your own.
